Mono.

Joseph has it. I had no idea that 4 year olds could get this, but apparently they do.
Basically we have been sequestered to the house for the past week. His mood is improving but he is still definitely not near 100%.

Sorry. I just had to take a break because there was just an EARTHQUAKE! I just taught Joseph how to duck and cover! Did anyone else feel that?

ANYWAY, i'm still working on uploading those pictures. I'll get on that. Soon.

So I'm guessing, Liz, that UYB means Update Your Blog. I'm not too great with figuring out internet slang, but I think I figured that one out!
I am devastated about SBX closing some of their stores...thankfully the 5 stores within a 2 mile radius of me will remain as is! So sad that Liz is losing her drive-thru stores...if you want, you can always come out here and meet at ours!

Onto what's been going on in my little world lately. In June we spent a week in Lake Tahoe. We took Joseph on his first fishing trip--man, did he have fun!!

After that was Carla's graduation from the UCDavis Graduate School of Management. I already posted a picture, but there are a few other cute pics from the day---uploading seems to be taking FOREVER so I'll do it another time.

Joseph stayed with my parents in Northern CA for 3 weeks (I know, right?) and came back on July 4th. Ann & Carlos came down and emptied out their storage unit here :o(
Just picture Joseph on our driveway...moving van & Ann and Carlos pulling away...him screaming "Please, just stay! I'm not kicking you out!! MOMMY CHASE AFTER THEM!!!"
So sad. He really loves them!

Yes, and that brings us into July...We just spent the past few nights camping at Doheny State Beach with family from Colorado. Joseph has so much fun with his cousins!!
I'll post pictures soon!!

Funnies

Two conversations from today:

J: "Mommy, how old are you again?"
G: "29"
J: "Are you young or old?"
G: "I'm young"
J: "Is it okay if I call you young lady?"

Cute, huh??

G: "We need to clean out your toys and give some to kids who have no toys."
J: "But mom, I have to keep all of them. Do you know how I got all of these toys?"
G: "How?"
J: "I got them all from Lala. I worked very hard. She gave them to me when I was a good listener with her. I'm a REALLY good listener! That's why we have to keep them all!!"

Since it's not RESTRICTED...

I think i'll blog right now since the site is not restricted from these district computers...

Yes people, I'm blogging at work. The kids are taking a test and there's really nothing else to do but surf the web and blog!

I drove up to the Bay Area yesterday since I am on spring break. This district, however, had their vacation several weeks ago---and I'm working here today!

During my looooooong drive yesterday my random mind got me thinking. I was listening to the Jersey Boys cd over and over and over--for several reasons. 1)I couldn't find my ipod 2)I couldn't listen to the radio because our dvd player interferes, and quite frankly, Joseph being occupied was far more important than me having music 3)It was the only cd in my car 4)I love the cd.

I was listening to track #18, Can't Take my Eyes Off of You thinking that it would be the sweetest first dance for a wedding.
Then i got thinking about our first dance at our wedding--and how we chose the song. We didn't want to dance to 'our song' because we didn't think it was a good first dance song...and we were totally overwhelmed with everything else. So, being the good man that my hubby is, he told me that I could choose any song I wanted-and that he would dance to anything with me.

So, I put it off-and put it off-and put it off...until just a week before the wedding. I was in the car with my sister and this song came on the radio. I loved the lyrics. I loved the song. And at the time, I loved NSYNC!!! Now every time I hear the song, I laugh that our first dance was to an NSYNC song. And I laugh that Jed agreed!

What was your first dance song??
